HL7 Transmission, Interpretation & Mapping: How Not to Get Lost in Translation
Have you ever used an international standard to bridge the gap between applications and share data? Well, then you know that transmission and interpretation are two different things.
We’ll dive into the conundrum of mapping IDs and correctly interpreting data by following a concrete example of implementing a HL7 standard. While HL7 is dedicated to healthcare ecosystems, the implications and answers we attained while deciding how to communicate, interpret and map our data will prove valuable in a myriad other cases. So join us, and let’s not get lost in translation.
About our speakers
After spending over a decade in engineering, Marinela is still as passionate as ever about software development and Java in particular. She has taken this passion one step further, engaging as a trainer in different initiatives such as the Software Development Academy and IT School. Her inclination towards teaching and sharing knowledge is also put to good use at Victory Square Partners, where Marinela is a Technical Manager and directs an entire engineering team in tackling complex platforms for the healthcare industry.
Radu kick-started his career in software development while still in college, but soon earned a reputation as an established engineer. Only 3 and a half years in, Radu has already gained a lot of experience under his belt by working on healthcare related platforms and solutions. He says about himself that he is on a constant quest to improve himself, whether it’s bagel making or writing code.
